What We're Learning
After a trimester of learning about the Earth, middle school students will be jumping into physical science. The 6th graders will begin discussing states of matter and the movement of atoms. Our first few experiments will explore how to measure solids, liquids and gases.
The 7th graders will do a quick review of matter and then start looking very closely at atoms. They will begin to understand the basics of the periodic table of elements as well. The 8th graders will begin looking at Newton's Laws. We will review the First and Second Laws but focus more on Newton's Third Law. We hope to explore these laws with a few experiments in class later this week.
