PJPII's first Energy Carnival is on Sunday, January 31 - right after mass that kicks off Catholic Schools week. Please come and learn about everything energy! Guests will be able to see students' STEM projects as well as participate in energy games and activities.
We have some additions to our Science classroom. We welcomed two goldfish, a bottomfeeder and a popeyed fish just before Thanksgiving break. A small snail also accompanied these friends. We haven't named them yet but hope to do this soon.
One of our 3rd graders, Jonathan Francisco, donated his turtle for our students to observe. Its a small aquatic turtle named Sonic. Third, fourth and fifth graders will no longer be attending science class as of October 13, 2015. Their last science class is October 9, 2015.
There will be opportunities for students to continue learning science topics or maintain the knowledge they currently posses. More information will be coming soon as online system is being approved for these students. Third, fourth and fifth grade students should have brought home a Lego Project sheet that outlines several choices for their end of unit project. Each student should be returning this slip to me so I can buy the necessary materials. All materials will be provided. The project will take place during science class on Monday, September 28. Parent involvement is not necessary. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know by email.

Any outstanding lab paperwork Today, all students from 3rd through 8th grade participated in a fun experiment called Save Fred! With this experiment, the students explored using the Scientific Method to save a worm who had capsized his boat. Using only paper clips as tools, students had to work cooperatively to put a life preserver around the worm. Ask your student about this unusual experiment today! Pictures will be posted soon.
